The expert at the conference appealed to the world to immediately reform the policies in health care before being too late. It is very urgent that the world fight down the deviant life styles of adopting wrong diet, smoking, and lacking physical exercise. The world should actually have made it as the prime priority to fight against sustainable chronically lethal diseases.
“Global terrorism is indeed a factual threat, but it brings about less impact than obesity, diabetes, and other smoking-generated diseases” stated Lawrence Gostin, a professor in Law of Health at University of Georgetown and John Hopkins, USA. Based on data released by WHO, in the coming ten years the chronic diseases will kill 388 million people. The Executive Director of Oxford Stig Pramming group admitted that avian influenza, HIV/AIDS, SARS, terrorism, bioterrorism, and global warming are so dramatic that they drain emotion of the world. Obesity and other life style related diseases, however, need to immediately be taken care due to their impacts on the system of economy and health of the world.
